Your tutor
Phil Dawson is a guitarist, composer and bandleader who learned his trade performing with a variety of iconic artists on at least five continents. He’s a published author of music instruction books and courses, a recording artist on Kudos/Funkiwala Records, and a qualified teacher with a PGCert from Sussex University as well as a composer with works published by Sony/BMG, Warner Chappell, De Wolfe and Audio Network.
He has taught at BIMM, Bath College, Hackney College and London College of Contemporary Music, and studied with some of the UK’s finest guitarists — Mike Walker (Impossible Gentlemen), John Etheridge (Soft Machine) and Alan Weekes (Jazz Jamaica, Joss Stone).
Phil is a teacher who’s genuinely active in the industry and brings that experience into every lesson.
